Editing RAM actions as a system administrator

System admin permissions are required.
This article explains how system administrators edit existing radioactive material inventory line items, including correcting data-entry errors and aligning records after audits.
1. RAM action: edit (system admin only)
Only system administrators can edit a principal investigator’s radioactive material inventory line items. This function is used to correct inaccurate entries, update isotope information, or reconcile data following an audit.
Administrators access this feature by navigating to Data Manager, selecting Radioactive Materials, and choosing the Edit icon next to the inventory line.
2. Editable fields
The following fields can be updated when editing an inventory line:
- RAM permit
- RAM permit line
- Changing this may alter the tracked isotope and its associated limits.
- Isotope
- Physical form
- Compound
- Manufacturer
- Model or product number
- Code
- Lot
- Assay date
- Critical for accurate decay tracking.
- Original activity – Display only.
- Assayed activity – Can be updated.
- Current quantity
- Required for mass‑dependent isotopes such as uranium.
- Notes
- Status
- In stock
- Received
- Delivered
- Not found
Administrators may also mark the edited line item as a new catalog entry.
