Using advanced filters to refine inventory searches

Advanced filters allow you to refine your inventory search results by applying multiple criteria across chemical details, tracking information, ownership, location, and compliance categories.
1. Accessing the advanced filter options
To access the advanced filters, follow these steps:
- Click the Advanced Filter icon next to the search bar.
- Select the criteria you want to apply from the available filter categories.
2. Filtering by chemical details
You can refine your search using the following chemical-specific criteria:
- Compound Name
- CAS Number
- Manufacturer
- Product Number
3. Filtering by tracking information
Use these filters to search based on time-sensitive inventory data:
- Receipt Date
- Expiration Date
- Testing Status
4. Filtering by ownership and location
Narrow your results by organisational and physical location details:
- Owner
- Department
- Location
- Container Department
5. Filtering by compliance criteria
Apply regulatory and safety-related filters to identify specific hazard categories:
- Regulatory Codes
- Storage Codes
- NFPA Hazards
- Toxicity
6. Understanding filter types
The advanced filter system offers three types of filtering options:
- Multi-Select Checkboxes allow you to pick multiple hazard categories or values simultaneously
- Boolean Filters let you include or exclude keywords, for example, include "flammable" whilst excluding "aqueous"
- Date Filters enable you to search by before, after, or exact date
7. Applying your filter selections
To apply your selected filters, follow these steps:
- Review your selected filter criteria.
- Click Apply to refresh your inventory table with the filtered results.
Note: The inventory table updates instantly when you apply filters, displaying only the items that match your selected criteria.
