Configuring chemical inventory settings

The Chemical Management System (CMS) provides advanced configuration settings that control visibility, editing rights, and workflow processes for chemical inventory management.
1. Understanding permissions and roles
These settings control who can perform key actions within the chemical inventory system and define notification recipients.

| Minimum permissions to create new | Defines the minimum permission level required for a roster role to add chemicals to inventory. |
| Chemical inventory manager role | Assigns a roster role to receive notifications when a transfer is accepted, alongside the PI/owner. |
| Allow non-admins to transfer inventory to any PI | Allows chemical owners to transfer their inventory to other owners across the organisation. |
2. Configuring chemical details visibility
These settings determine which information fields and actions appear in the chemical inventory interface.

3. Managing disposal path settings

| Disposal approval/rejection comments | Enables an optional comment field for administrators during disposal approval or rejection. |

| Attachment field (disposal request form) | Requires an attachment before a container can be submitted through a disposal path. |
| Show waste API button | Toggles visibility of the initiate waste requisition button when selecting containers. |
4. Setting editing permissions for general users
These settings determine which fields general users can modify and whether they can create new catalogue entries.
