The SafetyStratus CMS includes tools for generating and printing container labels using your organisation's printers, with each label type providing different sets of information to support chemical tracking and hazard communication.
1. Understanding label functions
SafetyStratus CMS offers three label functions to support different tracking and compliance needs.
1.1 Create Label
- Generates a barcode for the container
- The barcode is based on the Code field and Receipt Date defined in the container's data record
1.2 Print Label
- Sends the print request directly to a configured Zebra printer
- For setup details, see the Configure Zebra Printer section of this guide
1.3 Label
- Produces a detailed label that includes Chemical Name, CAS Number, Barcode, and Warning Pictograms
2. Following best practices
To ensure effective label generation and printing, follow these guidelines:
- Use the Create Label function when you need to generate a barcode for digital tracking
- Use the Label function when a full hazard label is required for compliance or safety communication
- Ensure your Zebra printer is properly configured before using the Print Label function to avoid printing errors
