LATCH (Laboratory Assessment Tool & Chemical Hygiene Plan) is a safety management tool built into SafetyStratus that helps lab teams identify hazards, assign protective equipment, track training, and keep digital records in one place.
1. Recognising LATCH in your system
LATCH may appear under a different name in your system, such as Lab Profiles, CHAMS, or PI Profiles. The features work the same way regardless of the name shown.
2. Understanding how LATCH fits into SafetyStratus
The LATCH Module works seamlessly with other SafetyStratus tools—such as Chemical Inventory and Training—to give a complete picture of hazards within a lab. Data from hazard assessments can be integrated into dashboards and analytics for leadership reporting.
3. Managing LATCH as an administrator
As an administrator, you will:
- Manage user access by assigning roles that control who can submit, review, and approve assessments
- Maintain settings and notifications by setting risk expiration periods, reminder schedules, and default approval emails to ensure timely follow-up
- Monitor assessments using reporting tools to track outstanding approvals, expiring assessments, and trends in risk ratings
