Low inventory limits help maintain uninterrupted operations by sending automatic alerts when a chemical’s stock drops below a set threshold.

This threshold applies to the total combined quantity of that compound across a Principal Investigator’s (PI) inventory. When the limit is reached or passed, the system emails the chemical owner a summary of all compounds that have hit their alert level.

This article explains where to enable access to it.

1. Enabling limits

To enable the low inventory limit feature:

1. Open Administration.
2. Select Edit Settings.
3. Switch to Chemical Inventory.
4. Set Show Low Inventory Limit to True.

This adds the action to the container's menu for authorised users.

Adjust chemical inventory permissions to allow users to set limits.
