Configuring permissions and workflow routing for permits
Who is this article for?Administrators responsible for managing permits.
Administrator role and Permits module access are required.
This article explains how to configure permissions and workflow routing settings for permit types, including reviewer assignments, approval requirements, and workflow enhancements.
1. Setting up permissions and workflow routing
The following settings control who can submit permits, who reviews and approves them, and whether comments are required during the approval process.
- User Tags Allowed – enables submission on behalf of others via roster-linked user tags
- Permit Committee – defines default and available reviewers and approvers for this permit type
- Approver Comments Required? – forces approvers to leave a comment before approval
- Special Approver Comments Required? – forces special approvers to leave a comment before approval
- Resend Permit Approved Notification? – allows administrators to resend approval notifications
2. Configuring workflow enhancements
These settings provide additional workflow capabilities, including amendments, copying previous submissions, and managing reviewers.
- Amendable Permit? – enables amendments for this permit type (LATCH workflows require both this setting and Allow Permit Amendments under Edit LATCH, and visibility depends on access permissions)
- Allow Copying from Previous – copies non-admin fields from prior submissions
- Send Email Reminders to Subforms – sends reminders for incomplete subforms (configured per subform)
- Allow Adding Reviewers via User Tags – lets administrators and reviewers assign extra reviewers from tag lists
- Remove Tag Reviewers Once Permit Is Issued – removes tag-based reviewers after approval
